From brush to wall
How your painting is made
Every ArtLogia painting is made by hand, for you, from a blank canvas. Here is what happens in the 2–3 weeks after you order.
- 1
Study the original
The artist works from a high-resolution reference and studies the painting's composition, palette, brushwork and the condition of the surface.
- 2
Prepare the canvas
Cotton canvas is cut to your size and primed with gesso, so the oil paint grips the surface and stays flexible.
- 3
Sketch the composition
The main lines and proportions are drawn onto the canvas and checked carefully against the original.
- 4
Underpainting
A thin monochrome layer establishes light and shadow — the same foundation the old masters used.
- 5
Build the colour
Colour is built up over several sessions, layer by layer, with drying time in between.
- 6
Details and brushwork
Faces, fabrics, stars and highlights are added last, recreating the texture and character of the artist's strokes.
- 7
Dry, varnish and check
The painting dries fully, receives a protective varnish and is compared side by side with the reference.
- 8
Ship the same day
Your painting is packed in a rigid tube or reinforced box and shipped the same day it is finished, with tracking.
